Development and application of triangulation joint network based on an FEM program (RS2)

Abstract It is widely known that the triangle finest geometric unit, and therefore applying triangulation joint to rock mass simulation can not only accurately describe fracture morphology of engineering, but also inversely deduce mechanical parameters blocks joints. Based on soil two-dimensional analysis program (RS2), this paper compiles a with MATLAB realizes parameterized setting network (TJN) in RS2 for first time, using it uniaxial compression model roadway accordingly. In RS2-TJN model, its element are calibrated according strength elastic modulus obtained from test laboratory. Then results compared those particle flow code (PFC), which shows stress–strain curve matches laboratory one more closely. by adjusting density good agreement deformation situ so as study failure characteristics surrounding rocks.
